Yema Tom

Biography:

For many months, Yema Tom eluded DKB team members seeking to interview her for the project. Famed for her Kim language abilities throughout the Kwako region, when Yema Tom finally agreed to meet with DKB team member Hannah Sarvasy she was recovering from illness. Despite her frailty, Yema Tom (Tom is a farming hamlet of a few families roughly one mile from Kwako) spoke forcefully and impatiently in rapid-fire Kim about the old days and the Kim way of life.
